To ensure a safe environment for all players, Blackstar Youth Lacrosse requires comprehensive safety screening for ALL coaches, board members, and regular volunteers prior to the start of the season.
Blackstar Youth Lacrosse Vetting Process

FEDERAL and STATE Criminal Background Checks: Complete reviews of Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI databases.

Sex Offender Registry Screening: Continuous verification through national databases and state sex offender registries (including Megan’s Law).

Fingerprint-Based LIVE SCAN: Fingerprint submission directly to law enforcement authorities to confirm identity and criminal history records.
ALL staff must clear these protocols before interacting with our youth athletes.

Boys 9U Head Coach
John Norwood is a Los Angeles native with a great love for the game of lacrosse. His Lacrosse journey started at Windward school's first lacrosse team. He emphasizes mastering the fundamentals and playing lacrosse at a high IQ level.
